于常海教授为推动祖国科学事业的发展，加强国内外学术交流，组织了29次国际学术会议，其中筹措在中国主办的国际学术会议有23次，架起了中国与世界科技联系的桥梁，使不具备出国条件的学术界同仁也能在国内及时分享国际最新的学术成果。
